Voice Lessons and Vocal Coaching
Voice lessons and coaching are taught by Daniel Buchanan, Courtney Freed, Claire Hudkins, Emily Kinkley, Paul Louis Lessard, Stephanie Smith, Leah Yorkston, or Lindy Pendzick.
Vocal Skills/Technique
Learn to breathe easily. Learn to use your voice in a way that is easy and comfortable. Learn to sing higher, lower, louder, softer, and with more agility. Using a variety of vocal and physical exercises, your teacher will help you find your own unique sound that can be created with ease. The mechanics of singing can sometimes be tricky, but a voice instructor can help you figure out the best way to breathe and use your body to its maximum potential.
Song Coaching
Whether it's a song by Beethoven or the B-52s, your lesson can help you learn and perfect any song. Learn the notes and rhythms of the song, find the most comfortable way to sing it, and perform it with appropriate style and passion. Any genre is possible, including pop, rock, indie, folk, classical, rap, opera, Broadway, world music, praise and worship, soul, hip-hop, and more.
Audition Preparation
Nothing can be quite as nerve-wracking as an audition. 90% of audition success is being prepared. Get the help you need to present audition songs and monologues that sparkle! Your teacher will help you pick appropriate songs and monologues, learn them solidly, and present them with class and professionalism.
Singing in Harmony
The beauty of harmony is one of most powerful aspects of singing. It can be heard in nearly every musical style, from Country music to the Beatles to African folk songs. These lessons teach you to sing your own part while hearing others around you. Learn to create your own alternate vocal line with nearly any song and improvise on the spot.
Microphone Skills
Singing into a microphone is exciting, but requires additional skills and awareness. The Resound NW studio is well-equipped to practice using a microphone.
